ACES ED Volume Monitor

The ED Volume Monitor uses data from KFL&A Public Health's Acute Care Enhanced Surveillance (ACES) system to display real-time patient volumes for emergency department (ED) visits. ACES is a surveillance tool for Ontario's local public health agencies and Ministry of Health that monitors—in real time—visit volumes and potential disease outbreaks at participating hospitals (currently, more than 95% of Ontario's hospitals share data with ACES). The ACES Volume Monitor is a tool intended to provide situational awareness on the current volume of ED visits by comparing the current volume to pre-pandemic and recent volumes. Data is updated every two hours between 6:30am and 8:30pm. More information on the tool is available on the "Help and Notes" page.

NOTE: Access to the ED Volume Monitor is available to public health, healthcare professionals, and other interested stakeholders. The tool is not intended to replace regional or hospital-specific surge or wait time dashboards.
